About Grief and Estate Coaching

Your Guidebook to Navigating Loss, Legacy, and Inheritance

How do you navigate life when you're faced with the imminent loss of a loved one? Why does money often tear families apart? And how can you ease the burden of managing an estate during such a challenging time?

These are some questions that frequently arise as people grapple with grief and loss.

In their deep sorrow and distress, many have uttered the words, “There's no handbook to grief.”

But what if I told you that perhaps there is? What if there were actually a guide and a process to help navigate through the complexities of grief while you tend to your loved ones estate?

Hi, I’m Krystina, an Grief and Estate Coach.

Through both personal and professional experience, I understand that grief is a nonlinear process.  There are various stages and landmarks of grief, but it’s very individualized to the person experiencing it.

Through Grief and Estate Coaching, I help people tend to the emotional aspects of their grief while dealing with the logistics and the complexities of handling an estate, family dynamics, and honoring the memory of their loved one.

I work to bridge the gap between grieving people and helping clients determine their wishes for their monetary and physical possessions.

In my role as a Grief and Estate Coach, I've heard many stories of people facing the loss of a loved one and the difficulties of managing their estate. These narratives are filled with feelings of being lost, overwhelmed, and unseen

They often express how they feel paralyzed by the emotional weight of grief while also having to deal with practical tasks related to the estate.

This juggling act takes a toll on their well-being, affecting not only them but also those around them. They share stories of regret, of things left unsaid and undone, and of families struggling to stay united amidst the chaos.

To top it all off, they feel isolated, like they've lost their sense of direction and purpose.

While everyone's journey is unique, I've noticed some common themes in navigating grief and estate matters.

This is why I’ve created the 4 Tenets Process to lessen the impact of this distressing time by helping my clients remain focused, clear, and confident in their decision-making.

4 Tenets Process of Grief and Estate Coaching

No matter where you are in your journey, every client will be guided through the Four Tenet Process of Grief and Estate Coaching. Each Tenet is thoughtfully crafted to lead into the next, offering a holistic approach to creating your personalized Guidebook to Grief. The Tenets are flexible, often overlapping and intersecting, allowing the process to adapt to your unique needs and experiences.

Tenet I: Priority Planning

The initial step, priority planning, lays the groundwork for our journey together.

In times of grief, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and confused, as you are coping with a wide range of emotions. This is where our priority planning comes in—providing clarity and direction during the chaos.

I’ve seen how grief can cloud judgment, leading to hasty decisions like rushing to clean out a storage unit that can wait. The goal throughout the first step of this process is to guide you through the initial stages of loss, to make sure that each step is taken with thoughtfulness and consideration for your well-being.

Tenet II: Overall Well-being

In Tenet II, we address every aspect of your life through a holistic approach. Grief can disrupt even your most basic self-care, so we’ll make sure you’re taken care of.

Then, we’ll explore your stress coping mechanisms, communication, and support systems, teaching you how to delegate and manage tricky family dynamics – with healthy expectations and boundaries. When you are taken care of, you’ll feel equipped to make decisions you feel confident about, with the clarity and support you need.

Tenet III: Honoring Yourself and Your Loved One

Through our two-pronged approach in Tenet III, we work on honoring both your loved one and yourself.

Honoring Your Loved One

Together, we’ll explore your loved one’s wishes for their belongings, the causes they cared about, and their hopes for their legacy. We will also consider how your loved one wanted to be honored. This could include the creation of memory keepsakes for you and other loved ones impacted by this loss.

Honoring Yourself

To honor where you are in the grief process, we’ll work through deciding what you want to carry forward from your loved one’s life, beliefs, and relationships, and what you want to lay down. You’ll also focus on determining what you need to mark this significant moment in your life and its meaning for your evolving identity today.

Tenet IV: Reimagining the Future

In Tenet IV, you’ll work to transform your loss into a catalyst for growth and meaning for your future

Together, we’ll explore how to integrate your loved one’s beliefs and causes into your own life, creating a new perspective and potential trajectory for your life. This journey involves making decisions that shape your future, weaving the parts of their story you want to carry on into your own story. Then, you'll put your insights into action to create a meaningful future grounded in your experiences.
